Last night at the Central Stockport Area Commitee I once again raised my concerns of the councils move to the neighbourhood model.
My main concern is that the borough has been split into 7 neighbourhoods, yet 42% of the population live in just 2 of them.
We had been initially lead to understand that it was just a way to display data, but we are now seeing an equal amount of resources for the planned Live Well meetings allocated to each neighbourhood dispite the population disparity.
This is before we get onto need, the vast majority of those areas with the highest need in almost all aspects are within these two neighbourhoods. The council leadership talks about One Stockport, but we are not one Stockport, there are those with and those without and this model bakes in that inequality.
I will not let this rest and will continue to push for a redesign of this model.
We will not see our residents short changed.
