Yesterday evening we met with council officers to discuss the old Offerton High. Whilst there is agreement for the buildings to be taken down it we are pushing to accelerate this process.
However the most important thing is the reminder that unoccupied buildings are unsafe, not only is there a imediate risk of injury, but the years of vanadalism and fires have exposed and damaged the asbestos on site, this can have lasting and devisstating impact to peoples health.
Please remind anyone you think may want to access the buildings that it is not safe, no matter what social media may say.
