This lunchtime Councillor Sue Glithero, Manor Ward and I met with the relevant officer from Stockport Homes to discuss some of the ongoing issues regarding upkeep and maintenance.
We have been passing on the issues raised at residents forums and with ourselves directly, we are pushing for real progress.
Within this financial year we now expect
New more modern flooring within Voewood & Beaver House entrances.
All of the sprinkler system boxing in to be painted.
A tidy up of all the cable and other equipment in the entrances to improve the look.
For the maisonettes to be power washed to clean all the walkways and walls.
This is just the start, but we will continue to push for more work, but with the new regulations on fire safety things do take longer.
We have also asked for a review into the internet connection provision, it is not right that residents are stuck on slow expensive connections and we are now waiting for a report on how we get additional and faster providers on board
After last month’s lift outage there is a review in how residents are communicated with and how vulnerable residents are looked after, we will report back once we have the outcome.
Finally we know these are not going to solve every problem, Anti Social Behaviour, Over Crowding, cost of living amongst other things are regularly raised and we will work with SHG and the other agencies to improve these elements too.
If anyone wants to get in touch please use the details on the link.
