{"id":239,"date":"2025-07-04T07:35:46","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T06:35:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jonbyrne.com\/?p=239"},"modified":"2025-07-04T07:35:47","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T06:35:47","slug":"action-on-st-marys-way","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jonbyrne.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/04\/action-on-st-marys-way\/","title":{"rendered":"Action on St Mary&#8217;s Way"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This was a very important decision at a very busy central area committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Road safety is such a key part of ensuring the area we live in is not only sustainable but also enjoyable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having a 40mph road through the middle of the town just doesn&#8217;t make sense in 2025, many other councils like Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh are making strides to remove all of theirs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Making St Mary&#8217;s Way 30mph will not solve all of the issues, but there is a proven link between reducing speed and reducing road incidents.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add to that our call for red light and speed enforcement cameras we will hopefully be in a much better position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope to hear back soon on this request so watch this space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>https:\/\/stockport.nub.news\/news\/local-news\/plans-to-lower-speed-limit-on-major-stockport-road-after-concerns-about-weekly-crashes-264509<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was a very important decision at a very busy central area committee.
