A number of residents have been in touch over recent weeks regarding the cutting back or felling of trees across the ward.
As I have mentioned before there is currently a borough wide tree audit and inspection regime, any identified issues are being resolved on a risk based approach.
This morning I caught up with one of the teams doing the work and they showed me how even though a tree can look healthy there can be serious issues on the inside. These trees in the photo for example are rotten and hollow on the inside.
They will always take the tree to a safe level, taking it down completely is a last resort.
Unfortunately at the moment this process is not happening on Stockport Homes lane including the carpark on Banks Lane, I will continue to push for those trees to be correctly managed to ensure they are appropriate and have a healthy life.
