Apparently my good deed for the day is to tell people who live and work in Marple that they can get discounted membership at Life Leisure.

This is not a joke and unfortunately another example of a council administration that is out of touch with residents.

During the COVID Pandemic Life Leisure's future was uncertain and through quick and bold action by the then Labour ran council it was secured for all of our borough.

Improvements like the new Hub at Marple are welcome but we should not be seeing special offers targeted at one part of our borough. This was raised with the cabinet member last week and it is disappointing this continues.

So my good deed is to tell everyone that the form doesn't check where you live or work so you can take advantage of this offer, however your membership will not start until Marple opens it's doors, just click Marple as your home club.

*This offer is only available for the HUB EXTRA All Inclusive membership there are some other memberships available which may be cheaper but provide less access.
