Did you get the urge to get out and run after watching the Great North Run last week?
Did you get the urge to get out and run after watching the Great North Run last week?
Our Prime Minister Andy Burnham took part in it this year, he was the first serving prime minister to do so, he explained over the summer that getting out and going for a run is what helps him cope, this is true for many people. Running, jogging, walking, cycling and wheeling can be an important part of our mental health wellbeing, here in Manor we have a vibrant running community and are lucky to have some stunning routes and races on our doorstep.
Did you know that running from the Woodbank Community Center to the Cage at Lyme Park and back is half marathon distance, the same as the Great North Run?
But you don't have to go that far, one lap around the triangle at Woodbank Park is 1km and we have our own parkrun here in Manor at Woodbank parkrun every Saturday at 9am 5km walk, jog, run and wheel.
Have a great Sunday and if you are looking for mental health support there are many groups and services listed here.
Take care
Jon
