"Hope needs a home"

Today I spoke at the Labour Party Conference about how Stockport's success does not work for everyone. Too many families are on an endless social housing waiting list and everyday people need to leave our borough if they want to be able to afford to rent.

There is a solution to this though, that is a mass council house building program, creating the social homes for our future generations.

The motion was supported by the conference and I thank Unite the union for ensuring that council housing was on the agenda for this conference.

My fellow Stockport Labour Group councillors and I want to create a Stockport that works for everybody, not just those who can afford it.
