I was really proud to speak at today's Stockport Unity Rally today, when the community gets together it shows who the majority are.

As I mentioned in my speech the current proposals from the government do nothing to fix the dangerous situation of people having to cross the English channel and do everything to promote division.

The gangs who profit from this work do need to be removed, but this can be done by offering safe routes, not by forcing those in a desperate situation into ever more dangerous situations. Before anyone mentions crossing other countries first, how many countries would you cross to ensure you and your family where in a country where you felt safe?

Stockport today stood against racism and stood with refugees.
