It has been a busy couple of weeks at the council, between the three of us we have taken part in Scrutiny Meetings monitoring a number of different parts of the councils responsibilities including the Communities and Transport Commitee, Adult Social Care Commitee and Children and Families Commitee.

At these meetings we scrutinsed the councils work across these areas including the proposed budget plans for this months budget. I raised a number of concerns regarding the proposal to increase the car park charges in Stockport Town Center which will massivly impact those retail and lesiure staff who are traditionally poorly paid and do work patterns which do not always align with alternative modes of transport. I will be looking at interest as the proposals are finalised to see if the concerns have been taken on board by the administration.

We also had Area Commitee this week where we spoke to our local Police Inspector. Speeding is always a concern and it was good to hear about the action GMP are taking to combat this including monitoring and enforcement in 20mph zones.

I also attended the Greater Manchester Bee Network Commitee, at this commitee we had an update on Greater Manchester's Vision Zero plans which has the goal of Zero Deaths or Serious Injuries on our roads by 2050.

As always this weekend we where out speaking to residents, this time around Woodlands Road.
