It was a fresh morning this morning and a busy one here in Manor.
Councillor Laura Clingan, Manor Ward, Sue and I spoke to residents and delivered letters launching our 2026 road safety survey.
Road safety is always one of the top three topics when we speak to people, and we want to hear from you about what your concerns are.

This week was scrutiny week. At the Children and Families Scrutiny Committee, I raised concerns about the new SEND plan for Stockport. The plan itself is good and it great the Labour Goverment have commited £60 million to plug the SEND defecit built up during the Conservative/Lib Dem and Conservative Goverments; however, it will take three years to implement, which leaves too many young people at risk of missing out. I will be keeping a close eye one its progress.
I also attended the Stockport Bee Network Steering Group, where I continued my push to extend the 314 to Stepping Hill Hospital, giving people an alternative route to get there. I also raised concerns on behalf of Aquinas students from across the borough and beyond, including those on Bosden Farm and those coming from Poynton, that the bus service does not have the capacity at peak times. I will hopefully have an update this week.
As always, we are available to support residents on a range of issues, so just get in touch.
