It was really pleasing to see the the Mersey Valley Way was announced as the first National River Walk, a manifesto commitment from the Labour Government.

This river has been a constant in our towns history and as our town centre changes it continues to play a significant part. Access for all along this path will be transformative and support the new residents of our town access green space and nature.
