For context we get £3000 a year to support local groups and initiatives, these can range from supporting one resident to thousands. We have never had to reject an application because of lack of funds and any funds we do not spend just sit in reserves.

Stockport Pride not only promotes inclusion, but it actually saves the council money, allowing people to find support services and thier community sooner. It also generates significant footfall and spending in the town centre.

Fortunatly the vote was won and Manor ward supported Pride.

Councillor Laura Clingan, Manor Ward and I will always support an inclusive and welcoming Stockport.
