This is a really important announcement from the Mayor today. After successful trials in August and November from April there will no longer be exclusions on the times holders of older people and disabled people's bus passes here in Greater Manchester.

I discussed this with the Mayor at the Bee Network Committee meeting a few weeks ago and he confirmed there were just a few things to finalise before it could be agreed, which it now has been.

I know from talking to residents this will make a difference to many people and along side with £2 fare being held for another year, free travel for 16-18 years olds, half price 18 - 22, the buses now being back under public control and the launch of Bee Network Rail in 12 months we will very soon have a public transport service for for a global city region.
