This is a really welcome response to the consultation on pavement parking, allowing the decisions to be made locally but backing it up with the powers needed is the best balance. Keeping our pavements clear for walkers and wheelers is essential, but on our crowded streets there are some locations where safe controlled pavement parking can be acceptable.

We discussed this in our recent scrutiny review and this was the approach that seemed to have the concensus. Lets hope we can get this rolled out across Stockport quickly.
