This week I attended a really meaningful occasion at the townhall, the Mayor's Awards.

These awards are given to members of the community who go above and beyond.

I was honoured to nominate Mike Rodgers the Secretary of Webb Lane Allotments. Anyone who has been to one of the many events at the allotments will see how much work the whole team put in to make the space a real asset to our community.

But beyond the large scale events, week in week out they provide experiences and support for many people in our community, including the children of Banks Lane Infants.

It's hard to pick an individual from an organisation like the allotments as everything is teamwork, and many people would be worthy of an award, but it is important that sometimes we shine the spotlight on an individual.

Thank you Mike for everything you do 👏
