Tonight Councillor Laura Clingan, Manor Ward and I attended the Central Stockport Area...
Tonight Councillor Laura Clingan, Manor Ward and I attended the Central Stockport Area Committee along with other councillors from the central area.
We raised concerns of queue jumping and speeding on St Mary's Way, we asked this the police ensure they have a visible presence on it to deter these behaviours.
We spoke to councillor officers on the delay to renewing the PSPO which promotes responsible dog ownership, a number of areas in our ward had been forgotten, we have ensured these will be added.
On highways matters it was good to approve the orders for Double Yellow Lines on Hattersby Lane and on Forbes Road / Quadrant. We understand the concerns of those who objected, but the support for the scheme and road safety benefits on balance outweighed those. The order for the corner or Ilfracombe and Bideford will be published in the next few days too. Again this was in response to residents concerns.
Finally the approval of Rockstock was back at committee, this is now a firm favourite on many people's calendars and a fantastic event in our ward. We are aware of the toll it takes on some of the infrastructure so I proposed a resolution which was agreed by the committee that the fees paid for the event are ring fenced for Woodbank.
Feel free to get in touch using the email or number on my page, and please fill in our Road Safety Survey we have had lots of interesting responses so far.
